Affiliated to Bowls England and the Sussex County Bowling Association.
Gildredge Park Bowling club is set in the delightful Gildredge Park just 15 minutes’ walk from the Town Centre. It has 12 rinks, its own Private Car Park and is known as the Friendly Club.
The club is active in the winter with short mat bowls in the Pavilion 4 days per week and weekly whist and bridge sessions. New members are very welcome and if you have not bowled before our Club Coach and his coaching team will show you how to play.
The Men's Bowling Club was founded in 1920 and nine years later the Ladies Bowling Club was established, so in 2004 the Ladies Club celebrated their Seventy-fifth Anniversary. The two clubs were amalgamated in 2006.
We are a thriving club who regularly play together in Mixed Matches, as well as separate Men's and Ladies Matches. We were honoured in 2016 to win the Bowls England top club award for the South and to come second nationally.
We open at the end of April each year on our outdoor lawn Greens, which are situated in the attractive setting of Gildredge Park. Our Season closes at the end of September.
