Inaugural Stan Briggs Memorial Trophy
Over 80 Gildredge Park members played for the inaugural Stan Griggs Trophy at the Opening Drive on Sunday 22nd April. The Trophy was presented to the Club by Stan’s widow Margaret.
Club Captain Henry Knowles said “Stan, who died last year, was a very popular member who played for 21 years. His proudest moment was when he won the Jack Butcher cup in 2005. It was a real pleasure to have Stan’s widow Margaret and grandchildren Sophie and Andy with us on the first playing of the Stan Briggs Memorial Trophy which Margaret donated to the Club. We will play for the Trophy on every Opening Drive which will remind us all of Stan”
